How the Matchup Score Works
Every hitter on the slate gets a single 0-100 rating for today's matchup against the opposing probable starter. The score is a transparent weighted blend of seven components, each normalized to a 0-100 sub-score.
Pitch-Type Fit
26%Hitter AVG/SLG/xSLG/exit velo and run value against each pitch the starter throws, weighted by usage.
Contact Quality
20%Hard-hit rate, barrel rate and average exit velocity.
Handedness Split
16%Season production against the starter's handedness.
Pitcher Vulnerability
16%ERA, WHIP, strikeout rate and quality of contact allowed.
Season Production
10%Season OPS and isolated power.
Recent Form
8%Last 7 and last 15 game performance.
Park Factor
4%Run environment of the ballpark.

This build runs on realistic demo data so the interface is fully functional. The data layer is provider-agnostic: connecting live MLB schedules, lineups and Statcast metrics swaps the source without changing any screens.
